chrome.storage.local API. ClipVault has zero external API calls, zero analytics,
and zero third-party scripts. Your data never leaves your browser.
Make sure the extension has clipboard permission. Click the ClipVault icon — if you see a
permission banner, click "Allow". Also check that the website is not in your excluded domains
list. Some Chrome internal pages (chrome://) don't allow clipboard access.
The paste-back feature requires the target input field to be focused before opening ClipVault. Click on the text field first, then open ClipVault and click the paste button. Note: paste-back may not work on some heavily customized editors (e.g., Monaco, CodeMirror).
Image capture requires clipboard read permission, which some browsers restrict. Make sure you're using the latest version of Chrome (v110+). Try copying an image using right-click → "Copy image" on a regular web page.
Try clearing old clips: go to Settings → set "Auto-clear" to 7 days, or manually export and delete all data. ClipVault stores data locally, so very large image collections can slow storage reads. Keeping under 50 clips ensures optimal performance.
